The Future City Media Workshops are 22 week trainings for Detroiters interested in building a community media economy and an awesome future for Detroit. The workshops will offer advanced training in audio, video, graphics, and web design skills. They will also offer training in digital media education and entrepreneurship. Participants will graduate with the unique skill sets necessary to train other Detroiters in digital media, create their own jobs, foster cooperative forms of community wealth creation, and support media-based community organizing for a better Detroit!

The Detroit Digital Justice Coalition is comprised of people and organizations in Detroit who believe that communication is a fundamental human right. We are securing that right through activities that are grounded in the digital justice principles of: access, participation, common ownership, and healthy communities.

YOU SHOULD APPLY IF YOU:

• have some experience in creating digital media.
• have some experience in teaching -or- have some small business experience.
• are between the ages of 18-80.
• are dedicated to creating a community media economy and an awesome future for Detroit.

These guys are working hard, I’m talking back-breaking work, to clear and restore the track so that racers can claim their glory.

A new company is up and running. This one is geared  toward the web development and web management realm. There are words and phrases I could use now but that would sound like everyone else and sound cliché. How tired is it to say “Search Engine Optimization” or “we can help you with Search Engine Marketing”. The one that gets me are the people who get on Facebook and all of a sudden are “Social Media Experts”. Embudai has a subtle and long-range view on this space and can help you out.

Keep in mind customers and clients are your brand and your marketing force.

Today I went to gibraltar trade center in taylor. A glimpse into a pseudo underground economy with lots of fake gold and neon virgin marys. Looking into selling air fresheners there.

Day 1 of Dream Cruise Tactic.
Aware of the gas guzzlin spectacle it represents and the era along with it.
Aware of the chaps sitting next to me, laid off engineers, talking bout buy american and using the word “foreign” every other word, hustling a t-shirt.
(air fresheners are made in colorado fyi)
Aware of the use of chemicals in fragrance and the necessity for organics.
Shamans are onto me.

Success so far. Success to be in sun and see the black and white zodiac against the bright blue.
Success to be out on the street seeing the people and feeling the pulse. Activism is in the air.
